Recently, we have received a number of bounces to email we've been sending out. Many of these bounces are happening due to the SPEWS ant-spam list.
First, WE ARE NOT SPAMMERS. We don't promote, encourage, use, or support spamming in any way, shape or form. We are victims of spamming just as you probably are, and in fact, are probably much more sensitive to it than you are because we get 10 times as much spam as you do!
Unfortunately, SPEWS (and some similar lists) work by blocking a range of addresses; hundreds or even thousands at a time, not just single ones! Their goal is to drive spammers out of business by having ISP's stop selling them addresses. This way, legitimate companies, (like us), are forced to complain to our ISP's or to move our services. This represents a very time consuming and expensive option for many of us, and the complaints often fall on deaf ears.
If your ISP is one of these that subscribes to such a service, contact your ISP and complain about the practice, or find a new ISP. Remember, we take your questions seriously and answer every one of them. If you don't receive a response, it's not because we didn't answer it!
